Ryan Tannehill, quarterback for the Miami Dolphins, avoided invasive ACL repair with a stem cell treatment. A common injury among athletes, ACL tears require surgery and long months of recovery and physical therapy to restore normal mobility and function in the knee. Tannehill was able to avoid this arduous process in favor of a stem cell treatment, and although he is required to wear a brace, he does not display limited mobility typically associated with this injury.

"He moves around fine. He's got a good edge that I like to him right now,” comments Adam Gase, the Miami Dolphins Coach. This type of mobility is remarkable given that Tannehill’s injury occurred merely 5 months ago, and the conventional treatment would still have him in recovery rather than out in the field.

As regenerative engineering progresses, we believe the best stem cells to use in emerging treatments will be the patient’s own [autologous stem cells] as this negates the need to find a suitable donor and eliminates the chances of rejection of the transplanted tissue.
