The Texas legislature has just passed House Bill 810, allowing chronically or terminally ill patients access to adult stem cell treatments that are currently in clinical trials but are not yet approved by the FDA. Hence, potentially successful treatments may now be accessed by patients who have exhausted all other measures of treatment, but whose time will have run out by the time these treatments receive approval.
While the bill is limited to terminally or chronically ill patients experiencing severe symptoms, it should accelerate FDA approval of various stem cell treatments that show promise with this new pool of patients. The bill empowers doctors to recommend investigational stem cell treatments if all other FDA approved treatments are either inaccessible or likely to fail, giving patients with limited options a new window of opportunity.
Advances in stem cell based regenerative treatments are creating more effective treatment options for patients suffering from a wide variety of disease, trauma and injury. To learn more about stem cells, and how families can bank their own valuable stem cells by recovering the very powerful dental pulp stem cells during routine dental procedures; such as wisdom teeth extractions or the during the loss of baby teeth, visit StemSave or call 877-783-6728 (877-StemSave) today.
